Giggles, Gossip & Golf By Sally Nicol
A stream of mud covered cars drove into the St George Golf Club last Tuesday as golfers and non-golfers gathered for the annual L'Oreal Paris Breast Cancer Pink Golf Day.Organiser, Bindy Mace, says the event is all about women having a lovely day out in the sunshine while raising money for a good cause.
Over the pre hit-off cup of tea and scones the women quickly discovered the day of fun also held a hint of danger."The magpie has been very friendly to people on hole 12 and 13," St George Golf Club Ladies President, Lola Cuffe, announced. "It's particularly attracted to pink."There were nervous giggles as the women looked down at their vibrant pink outfits. To reduce the risk and restore calm the suspect holes were dropped cutting the nine hole two ball Ambrose back to just seven holes.
