The Dirranbandi Golf Club is located 600 kms west of Brisbane. In October the Club celebrated its 50th anniversary with an Open Carnival. Dirranbandi is a 13 hole golf course with sand greens incorporating 4 black soil holes which have been flooded for the beginning of this year. In drought time we are forced to tee up as the course has little grass cover but currently the opposite is the case as the members struggle to keep ahead of the mowing. The course is a picture and a pleasure to play on. Apart from golfers the course is home to kangaroos, a resident koala who used to oversee tee off on No 8, brolgas and goannas who turn up for the BBQ.
The club has about 35 active members and struggles to break even. The members do a wonderful with the maintenance and care of both the course and the facilities
