The Dirranbandi Golf Club is located 600 kms west of Brisbane. The Club recently celebrated its 50th birthday and held an Open Carnival. Dirranbandi is a 13 hole golf course with sand greens incorporating 4 black soil holes which have been flooded for the beginning of this year.
In drought time the members are forced to tee up as the course has little grass cover but currently the opposite is the case as they struggle to keep ahead of the mowing. The course is a picture and a pleasure to play on. Apart from golfers the course is home to kangaroos, a resident koala that used to oversee tee off on No 8, brolgas and goannas who turn up for the BBQ. The club has about 35 active members and struggles to break even. The members do a wonderful job with the care and maintenance of both the course and the facilities
