Oakey ladies host the 2014 Federation Cup Fourball Competition - 2nd June
Under unusually warm winter skies, 54 ladies played the fourball format for this year's Federation Cup. Not long after everyone headed to their respective tees for the shotgun start, there seemed an inordinate amount of attention being directed at the creek near the 8th green........OOOPS! buggy in creek. Most players take a spare set of clothes for wet weather not to rescue a golf buggy from a creek, however Chris Tannock came to the aid of her Borneo partner and the clubs and bag were retrieved but the battery remains on the creek bed. Luckily the wallet was found on a ledge of the creek bank. After a quick change of clothes, Chris and her partner were back on the course - this time in a cart to complete their round. There were some very good scores on the day and the course and greens were in very good condition. Click here for results. That little event caused no end of chatter over the lovely lunch provided by the Oakey ladies. A General Meeting of the District followed with some discussion on the new slope system. | |
