St George does it again with another Particularly Pink Day in March at the Golf Club, raising funds for the local Breast Cancer and Prostate Cancer Association.
Golf Day held Tuesday 18th March 2014 - Swinging into a Particularly Pink Day It was a day of infectious laughter as 70 western women hit the St George Golf Course for a Particularly Pink Golf Day in mid-March. The annual Three Ball Ambrose competition, which teamed experienced golfers with the not-so-experienced, was played in scorching conditions making the ladies faces as pink as their shirts. Returning to the Club House was a welcome relief with the women greeted with chilled champagne, a scrumptious sit-down lunch and air-conditioning. A boisterous afternoon followed which raised more than $2,800 for the St George Branch of the Queensland Breast and Prostate Cancer Association to help fund the position of local Breast Care Nurse, Lana Russell. Instigator of the event, Bindy Mace from the St George Golf Club, said every year the day grows bringing more and more women together from further afield. "So many people put so much effort into making our Particularly Pink Golf Day amazing and it’s a wonderful reward to see everyone leaving with big smiles on their faces."
